HUMA QURESHI’S HOLLYWOOD DEBUT IN “ARMY OF THE DEAD”

Written and directed by Zack Snyder, “Army of the Dead” takes place following a zombie outbreak that has left Las Vegas in remains and enclosed off from the rest of the world. Scott Ward played by Dave Bautista, is a former zombie war hero who’s now flipping burgers on the outskirts of the town he now calls home. He gets contacted by casino boss Bly Tanaka who is played by Hiroyuki Sanada with the ultimate proposal: for $50 million break into the zombie-infested quarantine zone to retrieve $200 million sitting in a vault beneath the strip before the city is nuked by the government in 32 hours. What a mission that is! Scott believes this money could surface the way to a reunion with his distanced daughter Kate, so he decides to take on the challenge. He assembles a ragtag team of experts for the heist and starts planning. During the film Scott finds an unforeseen emotional obstacle when his daughter Kate joins the mission to search for Geeta, a mother who has gone missing inside the city, who’s role is being played by our homegirl Huma Qureshi, an Indian actress with raw talent who has an earthiness, sincerity, intensity and warmth of personality. Renowned Indian film director Govind Nihalani has described, “Huma is a good enough actress on her own, someone who can stand apart from the crowd and hold her own.” We know she simply delivers a wonderful performance in every role given to her.

Huma has received three FilmFare award nominations, one being the for the Best Female Debut and the Best Supporting Actress. Starting her debut of in the Bollywood industry and producing quality content in successful hits such as “Gangs of Wasseypur” and “Badlapur”, both action and crime thriller films, it’s been only a matter of time for her to make an entrance into Hollywood by staring in this upcoming intense action crime movie directed by Zack Snyder her long-time friend.
