Mental health is one of the most important topics of health in today’s society. Yet it’s never spoken about enough, often swept under the carpet and seen as a taboo subject. Statistics show millions of people go through hardships and trials of everyday life feeling like they have nobody to confide in which leads to mental disorders. Every one in four people in the world are affected by a mental disorder.

Apple TV+ announced today that “The Me You Can’t See," the highly anticipated multi-part documentary series from co-creators and executive producers Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex (Henry Charles Albert David), featuring illuminating stories that help lift the veil on the current state of mental health and emotional well-being, will premiere May 21 on Apple TV+. The docuseries also includes British filmmaker Asif Kapadia as an executive producer. Born in the Borough of Hackney in London, Asif is an Academy award and four time BAFTA award winning director, writer and producer. But our shared experience is that we are all human”.

“Now more than ever, there is an immediate need to replace the shame surrounding mental health with wisdom, compassion and honesty,” said Oprah Winfrey. “Our series aims to spark that global conversation.”

Henry Charles Albert David further added: “The majority of us carry some form of unresolved trauma, loss or grief, which feels – and is – very personal. Yet the last year has shown us that we are all in this together, and my hope is that this series will show there is power in vulnerability, connection in empathy, and strength in honesty.”

The purpose of this show is not only to shed light on mental health, but to also give the viewers watching, hope. Hope that things will and can get better and to know they are not alone. The people throughout the world are all one big community, all in this together.
