MOBO AWARDS 2021
This year's MOBO Awards 2021 were held in Coventry, which recognise the best in Black music from the UK and internationally.
The live music event was hosted by Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock and comedian Munya Chawawa with the likes of Little Simz, Ghetts and Dave winning top prizes on the night.
The ceremony returned as a live show, at Coventry Building Society Arena, the first time since 2017. There were no awards in 2018 and 2019 and only a virtual ceremony in 2020.
The list of winners are as follows:
Little Simz won Best Female Act
Ghetts won Best Male Act
Dave won Album of the Year for "We're All Alone In This Together"
Central Cee won Best Newcomer and inaugural for Best Drill Act
Wizkid won Best International Act and Best African Music Act
Boxer Frank Bruno MBE was honoured with MOBO Inspiration Award
Tion Wayne and Russ Millions won Song of the Year for Body (Remix)
M1llionz won Video of the Year for Lagga
Skepta won Best Grime Act
Cleo Sol won Best R&B/Soul Act
D. Block Europe won Best Hip Hop Act
Michael Ward won Best Performance in a TV Show/Film for Franklyn in Small Axe
Chunkz and Yung Filly won Best Media Personality
Guvna B won Best Gospel Act
Shenseea won Best Reggae Act
Sons of Kemet won Best Jazz Act
Jae5 won Best Producer
The MOBOs had just introduced the new category of Best Drill Act this year to celebrate its diverse artistry.
MOBO founder and CEO Kanya King has said: "What's important is for the MOBOs to be a driver of progress and to really celebrate the music that young people are into. Drill is a dominant genre, and we wanted to be able to celebrate the artistry."
