Join a special livestreamed event with Akram Khan, one of Britain’s most celebrated contemporary dancers and choreographers, and acclaimed novelist Amitav Ghosh.

During his 20-year career, Akram has collaborated with artists including Kylie Minogue, Juliette Binoche and Anish Kapoor. Next year will see him retell The Jungle Book through the lens of the climate crisis.

Amitav is also a vocal environmental campaigner, often tackling the climate emergency in both his fiction and non-fiction works. Through his writing, he challenges why more fiction writers don’t face the subject of environmental disaster, with work that tends to be categorised as science fiction rather than reality.

These two men, each known for using their storytelling as vehicles for tackling wider issues, will be in conversation with the Guardian’s Alex Clark.
