ARTIST & ACTIVIST MADAME GANDHI NEW MUSIC VIDEO WAITING FOR ME

Madame Gandhi continues to blur boundaries between activism and art in her new music video directed by Misha Ghose. Filmed in Mumbai, Waiting For Me is an uplifting sunset-colored anthem that breaks the shackles of repressive institutions. The message of finding liberation in one's cultural identity is exemplified by Madame Gandhi's cast of queer, trans, female and gender non-conforming people finding happiness in traditional clothing (with an exciting modern twist) and kinship.

Kiran Gandhi, who performs as Madame Gandhi, is an artist and activist whose mission is to elevate and celebrate gender liberation. UK audiences may remember her as the woman who ran the London Marathon in 2015 while visibly bleeding to combat period stigma around the world. This music video is an expressive extension of this passion for shining a spotlight on those who are valued the least as.

"My hope is that this video sparks a conversation among my audience asking, “What currently oppresses me?" says Gandhi, " And what does my version of freedom look and feel like?”
